Terms of Service

Last updated: March 16, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Write & Learn Korean ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Platform.

2. Description of service

Write & Learn Korean is a free, web-based Korean language learning platform. The Platform provides educational content including character explanations, handwriting practice, typing practice, vocabulary, and interactive exercises. Core learning features are accessible without an account.

Future member-only features — including daily quizzes, Korean proficiency levels, personal progress records, and community features — will require a free account. We will communicate clearly before any currently free feature becomes account-gated.

3. User accounts

Some features of the Platform require creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account and to update your information if it changes. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform, its servers, or any connected systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or servers or networks connected to it
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract content from the Platform without prior written consent
  • Reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from the Platform's content without permission
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity

5. Intellectual property

The Platform's original content — including but not limited to character explanations, mnemonics, UI design, illustrations, and educational methodology — is owned by Write & Learn Korean and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

The Korean language itself, including Hangul characters, pronunciation, and grammar rules, is public domain. Our educational explanations and presentation of this material are original works.

Third-party fonts, libraries, and tools used in the Platform are subject to their respective licences.

6. Advertising

The Platform may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense. These ads may use cookies and similar technologies to serve relevant content. By using the Platform, you acknowledge and accept the presence of such advertisements.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any educational content, though we make every effort to provide correct information.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Write & Learn Korean shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising out of your use of or inability to use the Platform.

9. Changes to the Platform

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time without notice. We may add, change, or remove features and content as the Platform evolves. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing other remedies.
